The Higher Education Commission (HEC) invites Pakistani researchers/scholars to submit applications for the HEC Research Award competition. The purpose of these awards is to promote research, contributions to intellectual development, and publications with social welfare and high impact.

Awards will be given in the following three categories.

Researcher BI Resparrher H Publication
Eligibility Criteria
General Eligibility
The applicant was never blacklisted by HEC.
The applicant/publication has not previously received the same award.
Any publication to the credit of applicants/authors is not plagiarism as per HEC Plagiarism Policy.
(a) Excellent researcher
I. Applicant must be a resident of Pakistan for at least three years as on 1 January 2021.
(b) Best Young Researcher
I. Applicant must be below 40 years of age as on 1st January 2021.
ii Applicant must be a resident of Pakistan for at least one year as on 1 January 2021.
(c) Best Publication
I. The publication must be a scholarly book or journal article.
ii Publication must not be more than three years before 1 January 2021.
iii The publication must be written by more than three authors.
iv All authors must be a resident of Pakistan for at least three years on 1 January 2021.
v. Only research articles published in W-category journals are eligible in the HEC Journal Recognition System (HJRS).
vi The minimum number of citations in research articles should be 100.
vii Publications (including extended versions of a paper) previously submitted for the same award category are not eligible for resubmission.
viii Books should be published by a recognized academic press as specified by HEC.
Application Submission Procedure
Applications on the prescribed application template along with required documents should be submitted through HEC’s online portal www.hec.gov.pk.
