A printing section has also been created for the printing of question papers. A computer cell handles all data management activities. The Board is governed by a calendar based on PK, BISE Act, 1990. The Act provides a complete set of guidelines for the functioning of the Board along with regulations and rules. Within the parameters set by this Act, the Board makes rules and regulations for its operation.
In addition, the controlling authority also has the power to issue directions to the board for regulating any activity.

2: District Tank and its FATA areas.
3: South Waziristan Agency (SWA)
Institutions including:
- Government schools, including higher secondary schools and colleges, tehsil-wise, both male and female.
- Private Schools, Boys and Girls, Tehsil wise.
- Private Colleges, Male and Female, Tehsil wise.
All students of 9th and 11th class must be enrolled/registered in the board.
The student strength is around 40,000 at the matriculation level and over 25,000 at the intermediate level.
